My print slot for Speaking From Experience was booked in advance for Thursday. I felt a little bit rushed and like I had produced the best that I could in time for printing. Some decisions were made last minute, and a trip to the library meant a change in colour scheme. Three different colours of card stock were chosen for the covers of the booklets - red, orange and yellow. They were extremely bright, eye-catching and cheerful. They matched the tone of the content, and therefore they were going to be much more effective than the previous green colour scheme. They also allowed for differentiation of cost.
This meant that a few things had to be changed within the booklets.
These colours were reflective of those chosen for the covers.
After printing a few prototypes, I felt that the A5 booklet format was working well, however when I got into printing it all started to go a bit wrong.
Some of the colours started to print out wrong because the ink was running out and the pages appeared a little bit sparse. Panic set in and I decided to change the size of the booklets to half the size.
Due to further printing issues, only one of the booklets came out lined up, the rest were at least 1cm out.
Although at this moment in time I feel that I prefer the smaller format, I will work round this issue and find a way of solving the problem.
