Different Contexts
NO TANKERS by Rethink for the Dogwood Initiative
http://rethinkcanada.com/our-work/archive/dogwood-initiative/2011/ambient/oil-spill/
In support of keeping oil tankers out of BC's coastal waters, posters that "spill ink" when it rains have been created for the No Tankers project, cleverly interacting with it's surroundings. These wild postings have been placed above existing posters to get this particular message across. Construction walls have been used particularly due to the fitting nature, allowing the team to demonstrate their idea. The designs are beautifully executed, however on Rethink's website there have been a few mixed feelings about the posters. One reader comments
'This "campaign" is award show fodder. Nothing more, nothing less. It does nothing to address any issue. It just complains.'
ICE AGE by Changzhi Lee
http://www.leechangzhi.com/#!__portfolio/page-14
Changzhi Lee has cleverly designed a brochure that is specifically there to communicate how the effects of Global Warming are effecting the habitats of polar bears. The structural form becomes noticeable as the readers interacts with it, and soon 'melts' once they're finished. Lee states that 'readers get to interact with not just graphics, but play with the folding of paper'.

Sam Coldly, who uses space brilliantly, works for a space independent record label. He also does the design work for them, designing web banners and record sleeves.
ARTWORK FOR BECK by Mario Hugo

I can't say I like Beck, however I do like this unused artwork for his Modern Guilt album.
Hugo was asked to design a 'non-verbal, bold, iconic concept for Beck's newest album'. After further delving in to his work, I absolutely love some of the stuff Mario Hugo has produced, particularly his work for Lovecats
