For my website, I wanted to produce something that clearly represented my branding and visual approach, but I wanted to keep it simple, efficient and easy to navigate.
Opening page
I decided to create a landing page, that would take the user to a screen built up of the pattern previously created. This is probably one of the only ways I am going to be able to fully incorporate the pattern, therefore I think it is an important feature.
I have also included a large version of my 'logo', which stands out from the pattern. This will then be clicked, and it will take you to the main works page. The information on the bottom states my name, profession and contact details. I have used a grey for this so that it is readable on screen.
Works page
When I started creating the website, I was still using my old colours, which is why my logo is the bright pink. This is changed later on in the process.
I wanted to create something similar to a design previously done for web, as it received positive feedback for its easy navigation and ease of use. It is also a good way to showcase featured projects all in one space. The black squares will evidently display a small part of a project. The image will show a part that best reflects the content.
When all the images were put together, they didn't really all fit as a whole. This is evidently because I have used a number of different colours, mediums and visual approaches throughout the year. I therefore decided to make the initial images greyscale, and they would return to colour once hovered over.
Individual works
Development of how the works page could look. The user would reach this page by click on one of the individual snapshots of work.
